A coated-fabric wallet is lighter than leather and wipes clean, and it can be made in colours and textures that leather cannot offer. Makers in India make bifold, trifold and slim styles.
Its weak point is the fold. A thin coating can crack where the wallet bends, and coated fabric cannot be burnished the way leather can, so its edges are folded over or painted. We agree the coating, the edges and the lining in writing, and a sample comes before the order.
